We have had incredibly spotty Wi-Fi and power the last view days, the weather has been calm and clear, no rainstorms to blame it on, but we have had a lot of wind.
I woke up heavy with melancholy yesterday, a combination of missing my parents terribly and probably also because our group of trainees were scheduled to leave after their written exam. It's hard not to get attached to people you have been spending 12 hours a day with for 10 days. My plan is to return to Africa next year, but that does not guarantee that I will see them again.
They all finished their written exam with time to spare before packing up their gear and leaving. The group arranged for gifts for all of us, sending James to buy traditional Maasai beaded jewelry, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.

After saying our goodbyes and many hugs, Samalie, Liz, Wilter and I walked into Mara Village to see the clinic. The advantage to being here during raining season is lush surroundings and tolerable temperatures. On our walk we passed green cornfields, herders moving their sheep and cows, any many boda bodas (motorcycle taxis) carrying supplies or people.
Much love, Jo (MB)
